Melinda Neal is an accomplished artist and an Exhibiting Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her specialties include floral and marine subjects, and her work is frequently displayed at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island, Vancouver, and in FCA shows at the Fortune Gallery in Victoria.
Melinda was born in London, UK, and grew up in Atlantic Canada in a family of artists and musicians. Her passion for painting developed early on, and she has explored various disciplines from pottery to painting. She now focuses exclusively on oil painting, which she finds to be a forgiving and versatile medium.
She exhibits at various venues on the Southern Vancouver Island. These include the annual SPAC, (Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts) show, and the Sooke Fine Arts Show. She has also at been the Artist–in-residence at The Pier Hotel in Sidney, and she is the past Artsea/Coast Capital Art Display Lead.
Melinda keeps busy by taking various art courses every year to keep up with current techniques and trends.
She lives in Deep Cove, North Saanich, Vancouver Island, with her husband, Phil Murty.
